To ask you to keep me distracted

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 28/04/2021 20:41

I have binge eating disorder. And I'm currently 8 days without a binge. I'm extremely proud of myself.
But...
I can feel the urge rising and need distracting.
So come talk to me. About anything and everything. Give me something to focus on other than this urge.

I know logically I'm not hungry. I've eaten plenty today (I'm on 2200 calories calories day) but that littke voice in my head is saying I've managed a whole week and I should just let myself binge because what harm can it do?

To answer the voice, a lot of harm. I'm 19st 9lb and only 5ft 5in. So I'm huuuuge.

I'm rambling now. Please help me MN.

Antique, can you do some hieroglyphics (thank you predictive text😂) and then dip the paper in black tea?

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 28/04/2021 21:02

WhenISnappedAndFarted clever bunny!

poshme the cats are deathly afraid of the mouse if he's out of his cage. In the cage they just watch him mesmerised as he scurries about!

DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult bless. My 5 year old is the only one if mine that wants children. The 12 year old hates the idea and the 7 year old just wants an army of cats! The 5 year old can't wait to be a daddy though.

WaltzesWithSnobs I agree. Pet pictures are always appreciated... that includes yours!

GuineaPigPosie we have George who is ginger and white, Anakin who is black and white and panther Lily is black (he's the blind one) and the mouse is called Julius Cheezer Grin

Go for a walk! Or run yourself a long hot bath. Whatever you do stay far away from the kitchen. Drink a pint of water and then pour yourself another one, close kitchen door and don’t go back in until tomorrow

FiveNightsAtMummys · 28/04/2021 21:03

3 cats OP wow! Do you have any tips? My kitten is still scared of us and hisses if we go near her when she's hiding. She does come out a couple of times and will let us stroke her, when she's like this I pick her up to get her use to being handled. She has been having accidents but I have been putting her in her litter tray and moving her paws gently when she's in and she actually used it this morning so I'm happy about that.

thelightishere · 28/04/2021 21:04

What a brilliant idea for a positive distraction OP!

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 28/04/2021 21:04

Olivebrietomato I'm on the water! If I drink anymore I might pee!

LettyLoman yep! Just need to get past this hankering.

Antiqueanniesmagiclanternshow how about a doll wrapped in loo roll? Grin

ManCubsMama I'm a single mum and I also can't walk very far (disabled) but I wish I could go for a walk. A walk in the dark sounds lovely right now.

FiveNightsAtMummys I've been lucky with my boys. They were all litter trained when I got them. The newest one is still wary of the younger children but he's getting braver. We've had him 2 months now. It can take ages for them to settle though, it's just perseverance

Thinking of what colour I can paint my hall stairs and landing? My bedroom is sapphire blue, living room is emerald green. Any ideas?

LettyLoman · 28/04/2021 21:10

I’m reading a book and a vicar has had a 1 night stand with a stunner. She goes on to have twins that then go and live with the vicar and his wife who can’t have children. Does this happen in RL? Not heard of it on MN tbh.

idrinkchocolatemilk · 28/04/2021 21:10

Also I have found brushing my teeth helps!

tellmetologoffIamaMNaddict · 28/04/2021 21:12

One of my boys having a belly rub

To ask you to keep me distracted
Vallmo47 · 28/04/2021 21:18

You’re doing amazing OP.

But as for Line of Duty - I’d much prefer Bridgerton. 😃 Or if you have a really good book perhaps? A lovely long bath/shower?

willowtree81 · 28/04/2021 21:20

Well done!!! I would just think of it in terms of hours, you have gone 8 days, so 8x24 hours (?!) maths not my strong point 🤣 without doing it and how many hours now till bedtime? Not many, you can do it!!! Then tomorrow try to add just another half day on and think how good that will feel.

Good luck! You have surely done the hardest bit, just build on that great start ♥️

willowtree81 · 28/04/2021 21:22

Another angle, you could look up 'dairy is scary' on YouTube- might put you off eating some dairy products 🤢 worked for me 😥.

MyMushroomsInATimeSlip · 28/04/2021 21:26

A light or deep grey for the hall and stairs painting?

MyMushroomsInATimeSlip · 28/04/2021 21:26

Do you have any hobbies or interests OP that you get engrossed in?

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 28/04/2021 21:36

idrinkchocolatemilk maybe a grey? I like grey walls though...

LettyLoman I knew a woman who took on her husbands child from an affair! They were actually a lovely family. I've no idea how she did it. I'd never be able to.

tellmetologoffIamaMNaddict awwwww

Vallmo47 I can't bathe independently and my mums not here until Friday (she has appointments) so a thorough wash of all the bits I can get to will have to do. Brigerton doesn't look like my cup of tea. I'm not a big TV fan to be honest.

willowtree81 192 hours Grin I shall look up dairy is scary...

MyMushroomsInATimeSlip I love to read, im currently reading overcoming binge eating as I'm chatting. I find just reading alone isn't always enough to distract me.

My partner has offered to pay for me to train as something should I want to whilst I'm a SAHM but I have nooo idea what to look into. Any ideas?

Alonelonelylonersbadidea · 28/04/2021 21:44

@WhenISnappedAndFarted how do you train them to not chew cables??
My DP wants guinea pigs and uses the chewing as a reason to not go for bunnies but I want bunnies!!! Mwaaaaaaaaaaaa

You Rock OP!!

LemonLemonLemon · 28/04/2021 21:55

This is genuinely one of the most wholesome posts I’ve ever read on MN ❤️

OP - have you tried tik tok? I swear I’m getting RSI from scrolling too much Blush

Toreportornot · 28/04/2021 21:57

@HerRoyalRisesAgain
Read the bit about your kids wanting / not wanting kids, then skipped to this bit: “I've been lucky with my boys. They were all litter trained when I got them.” Took me a minute to realise you weren’t still talking about your kids! Grin

Nsky · 28/04/2021 22:01

Well done!
Miss Abby the tabby sends love, her mum is suffering work stress!
Sometimes we just need to go through phases, plan b will be happening soon

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 28/04/2021 22:03

NewMumma1819 psychology really interests me.

LemonLemonLemon I've not tried tiktok. I'm afraid I'll become one of those who does the silly dances in the street or something BlushGrin

Toreportornot oh god no, the kids weren't litter trained. I'm glad too. The 22 year old can produce some right beasts, wouldn't want to clean that up Grin

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 28/04/2021 22:04

12 yesr old not 22 year old. Bloody hell I'm only 29!

OP posts:
DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 28/04/2021 22:09

I'm on tiktok, not felt the need to post yet, but do go through to my teens room and do the dances until she gets up in the morning, better than any alarm clock 🤣

Pp is right, its a great distraction.
