Interview this morning for dream job presentation ready and on point, prepped to within an inch my life was calm cool and collected until my laptop wouldn’t let me enable camera or microphone settings for teams. Fine the panel were lovely arranged a zoom instead Still the camera wouldn’t work cue me faffing around eventually dialling in by different device by which point I’ve lost all composure.
It was hours ago I’m still mortified. They were all very nice but definitely not my best moments.
Worse interview ever 😫

One interview when I was younger ended with my knocking a glass of water which when clear across the boardroom table I left with the sound of dripping on to the carpet. I didn’t get the job and I still cringe

Havent RTFT so apologies if I'm repeating what you already know. Had a message yesterday from my works IT team saying that MS Teams has a glitch and people can have issues trying to join meetings etc. Then an update today saying it had been fixed.

I think you may have fallen foul of that? Horrendous timing!

I once had an internal interview where I tarted myself up in the loos at lunchtime and accidentally dropped my perfume bottle down my front! I could tell I stunk during the interview but for some reason was too gauche or awkward to briefly apologise and explain - which would have been the obvious approach. I got the job, hopefully they knew me well enough to cut me some slack - but why was I so rubbish....?????

@Stressedtoddlermum unfortunately not a family friendly company. I agreed accept the job on the basis I would work four days a week but there was constant pressure to confirm and move to the full five days. Ended up resigning as it was too much trying to function in a professional role on next to no sleep.

Not so much a cringe moment but a very disappointed one.

Applied for a full time academic post for which exceptionally well qualified. At the interview I was asked if I would consider a job share. I said "no" because as a single person I had no other income to fall back on and needed a full time salary to cover my living expenses. I said that I thought it was very misleading to advertise a full time post with no mention of job share then drop it into an applicants lap with no warning that they were really looking for two job sharers. Had they advertised it honestly as "full time/job share" then the applicants would likely have been a different demographic. Certainly applicants would have been already prepared to state their preferences.

I was subsequently offered the post as a "job share" which I declined in a strongly worded letter stating how I felt that their advertisement had been very misleading and showed a lack of transparency. I also complained to the HR department of the university concerned.

Once I went for an interview and the panel were reeling from the previous candidate and actually told me about it in the pre interview chat.

Asked what his biggest regret was he answered 'I've never had a really attractive girlfriend'.

I was part of an interviewing panel. The chair of the panel was a rather doddery old bloke. He fell asleep during the presentations and started snoring ...

Did a zoom interview entirely upside down. Some weird setting had got clicked on and I couldn't get camera to rotate. Not unconvinced company didn't think I was taking the piss (Australian) Grin. Turns out lucky escape as awful job.
