TW Sibling sexual abuse

Posting for traffic. Don't want to give too many identifying details but I have a question.

Two siblings of the same sex, one aged 14/15 raped one aged 8 repeatedly. Now adults. Because the older one was only 14/15 at the time would there be any repercussions if this was reported now as a historic case?

OP posts:

I have no personal experience but I'd definitely push for reporting. It would give closure to the younger sibling and also flag potential further abuse (outside of the family or even within, I. E. If the older sibling was previously abused)

Having been assaulted as a child - its very important your husband's wishes are respected. Everyone on this website can give advice - but its what he wants to do that counts. As a child his wishes were not respected and he needs some control back over this situation.

I would listen to those who’ve been through this type of thing.

Does he have other siblings? It could mean they were also abused which may make him want to come forward more but if he doesn’t want to then I wouldn’t force it although I think some type of therapy should definitely be encouraged.

Why all this "they" and "them" nonsense when it's clear you are talking about two brothers?

You’ve just read about a young child being raped by their older sibling, a person who is meant to protect them, and you’re more concerned with how the OPs writing it Confused

Ffs, bit of perspective needed I think.

I think anyone focusing on how something is written has got to be abit of a wrongun haven't they? A child was raped. No other details matter.

@helpfulperson

Why is it obviously two brothers? The partner could be a female and the poster either male or female.
OP says same sex siblings. Females can’t rape as that requires a penis.
RunningFromInsanity · 28/04/2021 13:27

Highly likely the older brother was also sexually abused.
Especially given how he has turned out as adult.

What a sad, troubled family.

What does your husband want to do about it? It’s his choice.

I’m glad you’ve gone no contact here.
