WIBU to stick an elastic band around it?

Light hearted
One of my neighbours has got a new wind chime
I was kept awake most of last night by eerie spooky tunes.
Can I send ds round under cover of darkness with an elastic band?
Or a roll of tape?
Just to shut the thing up for a bit

I have no desire to destroy the noisy thing (yet)
But the idea of some nice sticky tape is quite appealing.

It would have to be ds as he likes sneaking around in the dark and he would volunteer for this mission

Any other methods of silencing appreciated

@FunnyWonder

Wind chimes where I live would be grounds for murder. It's windy at least 90 percent of the year. Even looking out into the garden now on this glorious spring morning, the sun is shining, the sky is a hazy blue - and the plants and shrubs are waving madly at me.

Yes, an elastic band should do the job. Or, failing that, some explosives ...

Is there also a conspicuous absence of umbrella use where you live. I don't think anybody owns an umbrella where I am it's so windy, and it's no due to lack of rain!!

Well I cant hear them with my double glazing

What about in summer- do you sleep with the windows open?

FunnyWonder · 28/04/2021 08:36

@Cyw2018
Last person to use an umbrella around here is still whipping about somewhere over the Irish Sea!

FunnyWonder
I have just bought ds a kite for doing that!
An umbrella would have been a lot cheaper...

Saves on airfare, I guess...

Bubble wrap them!

If they keep you up at night, go round and wake the neighbours up to let them know. Politely at first of course.
Don't leave it until you see them during the day. They need their sleep affected too. Works even better if they make no move to remove them.

"Bitch, if I don't sleep, YOU don't sleep."

BlueberryKiss · 30/04/2021 21:18

Wake them up and thank them for the lovely soothing sounds....every 30 minutes until they get the message.

Aha the kite could get strategically, impossibly tangled around the blasted chimes. The whole ornament is now an environmental hazard to flying wildlife and more importantly, can't chime.

Unfortunately, your son will have to sacrifice his kite but at least this will look less like deliberate sabotage (less awkward with neighbour).

You could even buy her some lovely (silent) crystals or a wicker heart to hang there instead.
