To not feel young anymore at 26

I’m always told I’m still young. I don’t know if it’s because my life has been chaotic that I don’t feel it.

I'm 42 and I still look good in just what my mother gave me.

Do you have DC? I haven’t really felt young since having them with the sleep deprivation and how busy life is

I felt younger at 32 than at 26. That was because of my lifestyle, at 26 I had bought a house and was settling down and had little money for fun. At 32 I was single, going for a drink (could be healthy herbal tea) or dinner with friends three times a week after work, going to the gym 5 times a week and had a very active social life. My lifestyle made me feel fitter, healthier and younger.

I’m 41 and still feel young but at 26 felt “old” on my birthday.
Now I’ve got 2 kids, a husband, mortgage, career and feel far happier and “free” than I did back then, probably because I’ve accomplished as much as I have.
Age is perspective. You can feel old before your time, you can be 65 and still skydiving or anywhere in between. I’m personally going to be the skydiving 65 year old...

Please don’t waste your life feeling old already at 26! You’ve got so much life ahead of it - most of your life by a long long stretch!

ArnoldJudasRimmer · 26/04/2021 16:41

I'm (very) early 30s so not young by any stretch of the imagination unfortunately, but you definitely are, in your 20s!

Popcornbetty · 26/04/2021 16:55

@stressbandit good for you! I bet you'll have a even better time than you would have back then! I know if i could go back I'd have enjoyed holidays so much more!

Weeedonkey · 26/04/2021 17:21

OP, you’ll feel the same every year from now on, with the exception that you’ll look at the previous year and think why did I feel old!

Take it from someone who felt the same as you and is in their mid 30s and wondering why I felt that way.

Today is the youngest you’ll be, make the most of it ☺️
