I’d really appreciate some advice/suggestions on how to make new friends and “kick start” life at 60...currently work 2 days a week (self employed) and volunteer in charity shop have a few women I’m friends with. Married 36 years... husband and I are different ... Me a “people person” him self absorbed and likes his own company (self employed semi retired) Sadly life is currently feeling rather dull.

My mum joined a choir (if you knew my mums singing voice this would make you laugh!) when she was about 68 - she's made some really lovely mates - big gang of gin drinking women - she's 75 and they have a ball!

WI, when they are open again.

Another voluntary position at a different organisation. Animal shelter, food bank, school, Brownie helperl etc.

I know lots of people who make friends within their Church groups. It isn't for me, but maybe you would like this.

Have a look on your local Nextdoor.

My DM goes to church although not overly religious. They all stay for a hot drink afterwards and she's made a few friends there that she meets for walks/coffee on their own.
