I’ve lost it 🤣 I’m assuming it filled up?! did the OP ever return?! Did we ever see a menu?!

I just can’t believe the OP lit the match and disappeared. Well I can...

KatherineJaneway · 25/04/2021 18:07

That was a successful troll. 1000 messages normally does not happen in such a short space of time.

Samcro · 26/04/2021 13:03

The stuff on that menu looked nice.
The only thing I wouldn't try is the thing with cauliflower.
Can't eat that or parsnips.

OrangeRug · 26/04/2021 13:06

Embarrassing when humans genuinely think they are carnivores...

Ninkanink · 26/04/2021 13:10

🙄🙄 it’s an idiom.

Whether it was a troll thread or not, it was equally heartening to see how many people supported the idea of a vegan wedding and depressing to see that there are still people out there who will argue that ‘If you expect a vegan meal you should be prepared to serve a meat one for meat eaters’. They can’t all be that astoundingly thick, so they must be plain old belligerent.

altiara · 26/04/2021 17:31

I was lurking for the menu too. I won’t mention how many pages I’d read before I remembered that you can see all of the OPs posts 😳

I agree @StillCoughingandLaughing

@StillCoughingandLaughing Personally I liked the one that said if she served vegan food then she should expect all her guests to leave to eat in the nearest pub 🤣 heaven forbid someone has to eat a vegetable 🙄🤣 people are amazing! All this talk is making me want a good day out at a wedding with a nice free meal 🤤🤣

@altiara I’ve done that myself before 🤣

Yes, that one made me laugh too!

As a more general point, how often do you get an amazing meat-based meal at a wedding anyway? I might be the wrong person to comment as I don’t eat meat myself, but at most weddings I’ve been to, it’s been more a case of the food being as inoffensive as possible - as many said, chicken with a cream sauce or similar. I’m not saying it would be horrible, but hardly Michelin Star cuisine. At least a chef would have to use their imagination a bit for vegan food.

KM38 · 27/04/2021 17:25

@StillCoughingandLaughing completely agree. I’m not a huge meat eater myself - will eat turkey or chicken occasionally - maybe once a fortnight 🤷🏻‍♀️ Don’t eat much meat other than that though. Let’s face it, most wedding food is pretty crap - especially when you consider the price per head that the couple have usually paid 😳 usually some version of chicken in a mushroom sauce/chicken with haggis in a peppercorn sauce. Hardly inspirational in my opinion 🙈 I’d love a wedding where a bit of creativity had been used in the menu 😊 And in my opinion, vegan food now is delicious! I appreciate that maybe in the past that as a vegan going out for a meal someone might have struggled as the options weren’t there but as it becomes much more common the options are becoming huge 😊
My sister is also lactose intolerant and has some anxiety issues so for her, being able to go into a restaurant and safely order off a vegan menu and not have to quiz staff about allergens is great for her 😊

There was one rampant poster on that thread who was really anti vegan food & nigh on suggested it was a Go No Contact offence to serve it. Shut up rather quickly when it was pointed out their favourite 'lush' Indian food was often vegetarian or vegan. Others saying they'd be going to McDonalds on the way home or keep food in their cars! Madness.

KM38 · 27/04/2021 17:43

@iklboo madness indeed 🤣🤣 and in my mind, you only visit McDonald’s on the way home when you’ve had a greeeeat time 🍷🥂🍹🍸🥃🍾🤣 not because you’re starving!
