Is this a scam

I listed something (furniture) about an hour ago on gumtree. I got a message asking if it was still for sale and if there’s any defects. I said no, all great and then I got this response.

I’m very suspicious this is some kind of scam - my guess, pay through G&S on PayPal, pick it up, claim it’s never been received.

Is it a scam? Or am I over cautious?

They messaged me again when I didn’t reply with ‘No?’. So I did reply with ‘No’ and then blocked.

I definitely would have fell for that 10 years ago though if I’m honest.
