To talk to the teacher?

Dd (6) keeps getting really upset in the evenings, saying that no one plays with her at school Sad she has always had lots of friends and is a friendly happy girl. This is a very recent thing. She says that everyone has a best friend and that no one lets her join their games.

I really want to talk to the teacher to see what is going on, but wonder if she won’t really have time to get involved in little girl friendship drama! I just hate seeing her so upset.

Always talk to the teacher about things like this. We want to know, and it’s always better to know early before things become huge problems.

Definitely speak to the teacher!

The teacher will want to know. A girl who is unhappy won’t be learning.

I would want to know this, as a teacher.
The adults should be able to keep an eye on her and may know what’s gone on.
Well worth a call- feeling upset every day is not nice. Hope the situation improves.

Thanks everyone. Will arrange a call on Monday! I know 6 year old girls can be a bit clique-y, but I just want her to be happy Smile

I'm a teacher and would want to know.

Usually I do extra playground duty or something so I can see how true it is - often, they've exaggerated having no one to play with for one playtime, or a single falling out with a friend, but from time to time there's some truth in it and I can take steps to encourage some friendships.
