To think horrendous pain from ovulation isn't right?

Currently on my 10th month or so of horrendous what I assume is ovulation pain. My belly swells up like I've been blown up by a pump, it hurts to move, it feels like my insides are being stabbed by hot pokers. The only thing to help is time and not moving - it tends to go overnight.

Asked the GP and he said IBS but I never have symptoms any other times of the month? It's always on ovulation day (I track my cycles and don't take the pill).

It is really, really annoying me and no amount of googling helps. Has anyone had this and fixed it? I was meant to be going to a friend's garden for a wine but instead I'm laying in bed with hot water bottles all over.

I know by tracking my cycles when I ovulate and I get very mild cramps for one day only. What you are experiencing is not normal. Keep going back to your GP and don't be fobbed off. I can not imagine how awful this must be for you. I would have them test you for endo, have an ultrasound. It can be really serious in the long term.

I get it on my left side. Started when I came off the pill, and the GP won't let me go back on it now as I'm fat and have a heart condition that I need blood thinners for.

My bowels are also all over the place during ovulation and my periods, shitting about 6 times a day. I'll be glad when the menopause arrives.

I used to suffer terribly with ovulation pain i even went to hospital once because they thought I had appendicitis. The doctor said it was something called Mittelsmirtz. Not much to be done but I always suffered badly with my periods from 12 years old, I used to pass out regularly fro. The pain. I was told it would get better after having children but I eventually ended up having a hysterectomy aged 42. I sympathise its bloody awful. X

Thank you everyone for being so nice to me. I haven't had a csection or any type of surgery like that. I have got Hashimotos and potentially Lupus and my bladder is always being weird but no surgery.

I will go back to the docs and update for everyone.

I've had it for many years but not as bad as some of you. Normal pain killers do the job.

Dd has started to get it I think she is 15 so I'm
Definitely going to monitor her.

I get this too. I was scanned last year after 4 days of pain but they found nothing. My sneaking suspicion is that it was a burst cyst. I’m actually going back next week because it’s just horrendous. I get pain that is only alleviated by staying still, constipation and feel like I have a UTI in that I can only squeeze out a tiny wee. I strongly suspect I might have endometriosis.
Luckily last time I went I had a fabulous female GP who took me seriously.
