Hate noise at night on caravan parks/hotels

Hi. So I know I am being unreasonable as people are entitled to enjoy themselves on holiday and be abit rowdy sometimes, and the issue is all mine. But can anyone recommend types of holidays that give us the use of entertainment /pool etc but the accommodation is quiet. Does that exist?

I cannot understand why people are so inconsiderate of others sometimes. For example, my parents own a static caravan on a holiday park in Wales. We go regularly. We were there at the weekend and we have had new neighbours the past year. They are very loud and when I put the kids to bed at around 10.30pm they are outside their caravan, right next to my kids bedroom, blaring music and shouting /talking loudly til the early hours. It makes me irrationally angry and spoils my time away, plus the kids are tired through lack of sleep.
When we've stayed in hotels, there are people running up and down the corridor in the middle of the night shouting and screaming.
But.... We love holiday parks and what they provide. I wouldnt want to stay in a cottage somewhere because it would be boring for us. The kids love evening entertainment, pool, disco etc. They particularly like butlins which we've actually found the quietest at night.
Same with abroad, we usually go all inclusive to a family hotel, and if we stayed in a villa the kids would have no one to play with etc, nothing to do at night etc.
Is this something we just have to accept or are there any alternative that I've missed? I know I sound like a miserable sod but I really need silence to sleep and it affects my mood

All the holiday parks I've ever stayed on will come down like a ton of bricks on loud aggravating behaviour from people late at night. Have you reported the nuisance to the management? I doubt that you are the only people affected.

I'm currently on a parkdean holiday park. 2 rows away from entertainment complex. No noise. Then again its mid April and no entertainment is on haha. Only ever use parkdean though as they are extremely good at dealing with complaints.

I think the problem is that while I’m very much generalising a significant proportion of people who want “entertainment “ are the sort of people who will make a lot of noise late at night.

The quiet sites are the ones without entertainment.

Saying that I’ve stopped at Kelling Heath in Norfolk which has a pool and that was quiet. No entertainment though.

I have a tourer and generally stop on caravan club sites, like a graveyard at night!

I'm afraid the pig-selfishness of most people is why I've not really been too bothered about not being able to go away for some years, long before covid.

hotels are only bearable during the week. Caravan parks - no way unless it was only one van. Some do have 'shut up stupid' rules but I've no idea if they get enforced. You also want no-dog places or there will be all day barking.

all-inclusive is going to attract the types who never leave the hotel - and is pretty bad for the local economy. Make your choices, sorry.

hell, I'm afraid, is other people.

Hotels slightly better as they have guaranteed good night's sleep policies so you can at least get your money back. Cruises are good, too, because they boot rulebreakers out at the next port and the twats don't get their money back, either.

But in general a lot of people are rude cunts, particularly anyone who blasts music.

Holiday parks we book vans as far away from the entertainment complex as possible.

Any holiday park type place we've stayed on has had an absolute ban on outside noise after 11 or 1130.

We got a mobile home in France, same there.

I'd look at where you're staying tbh or go stay in an isolated cottage!

The site our caravan in is a private residential site. There is no holiday makers and no security etc. I will email the owners to ask their advice

You could look at Landal Parks in Holland (but book through the European site, not the British one, as it’s cheaper). They have the vibe you’re looking for I think.
