One ailment per 10 minute Doctor's appointment,

but three problems.

I have an excruciating problem with my ear, a painful, misshapen limb joint after a fall at New Year's and issues with weight gain and mental health.

Today, I phoned my GP about my ear and received a call back from a doctor.

After a brief discussion, he made an appointment for me for tomorrow.

Now.

I have three major problems, all of which need to be examined, diagnosed and possibly referred to a consultant.

Would I be unreasonable to ring again tomorrow and once again on Wednesday to gain two further appointments?

I'm limping, in pain and mentally, I'm in really ugly shape.

What would you do?

YABU - Just leave the other two appointments for now

YANBU - You need these appointments, go for it.

Had first appointment on Monday, had second today and when she saw the state of me, the doctor arranged a telephone appointment for my mental health tomorrow.

Update

Dr made a telephone appointment and signed a two week sick note, which I've sent to my line manager.

I rang for a call back on one issue but stated I'm also struggling with xyz. My GP said although it's one issue per appointment, she'd also briefly look into the other issues on my 1:1 appointment.

All GPs shd have online access now where you can go through your symptoms required by the government since April 2020. That is a handy way of bypassing receptionists and you can put in multiple online consultations.

Cool I see you are sorted now.

If I had a 'misshapen limb joint' after a fall that was causing me pain and a limp I'd be taking that one to A&E tbh.

Gingernaut · 24/04/2021 15:36

I should have done, but it's now a chronic issue and A&E won't help.

@Nancylovesthecock A&E is not appropriate for an injury that’s nearly four months old.
