£200 for non existent pills

Over lock down I have put on a lot of weight ...the only exercise I can take is swimming and with the pools closed that has been a no no.
Before lockdown I had had some pills from the National slimming clinic which had really kicked start things for me and decided to try them again online. They have made and cancelled five appointments via the phone, tried to over charge me by more than £150 and now are saying I can’t have the pills and they do not refund so I have paid out £200 for nothing.

I am going to try and get my money back on my credit card, I suppose I am mainly posting as a warning to everyone who is thinking about using the National slimming clinic. I was going to post on their Facebook page but the message is not getting through.

Before anyone asks I am a pensioner and live alone ...the main way I have kept myself sane is cooking and I have been experimenting with different dishes .so yes it is my fault.

There aren't any non-prescription weight-loss pills, so this was aways a scam of one kind - either non-existent pills, or snake oil.

I'd contact your CC and try and get your money back that way - I'd also cancel the card as the company is undoubtedly a scam organisation.

I don't quite know where to start.

What exactly is in these magic pills that made you lose weight?

They've taken you for a ride op, sorry.

You'll get this money back from your credit card company, if you didn't already claim it back under section 75 regulations.

As for the pills, please don't. If you want to drop the weight consult your GP and carefully reduce your calorie intake and if possible slightly increase your exercise.

Were they phentermine?

WellIWasInTheNeighbourhoo · 21/04/2021 00:03

It might been phentermine and that is prescription. Im amazed that there is this whole range of prescription drugs you can seemingly fill in a form and just buy on the internet now. If youre willing to pay enough, there is certainly profiteering going on. A move towards the american system?

I looked this business up on trustpilot and they have lots of unhappy customers, a recent change of hands and the new business model is be more expensive, slow, difficult about refunds and sell almost out of date medication. Lovely!
