Sufficient income for a couple

A couple in the North with no children, rent and bills is £800 altogether. How much combined income would you say is needed to live 'reasonably', not a champagne lifestyle but not the bare bones either.

Same as things you need to buy 'sometimes'.
I could go for a year without buying any clothes, but there comes a point when each one of us needs to buy some new pants, or socks, or replace worn out shoes etc.

@PattyPan it really does vary depending on the lifestyle you're used to, socialising is very important to my husband and I for example. 3k a month take home isn't much higher than minimum wage for 2 people though so I don't think its an outlandish figure for a decently comfortable life.
