What age/height would you let a child sleep on the top bunk?

Sensible child, not sharing room (bunks were bought back in the good old days when cousins could actually stay over).

Full 3ft singles, normal height bunks rather than mid sleeper etc.

What age would you let them sleep on top?

As a child I fell out of the top bunk and broke my collar bone- I was sleeping the wrong way round though

My daughter has a mid sleeper, she’s 4. So far no issues.

Our bunk has solid steps up rather than a ladder - that does make it pricier, but is easier to navigate for a younger child if anyone is needing a youngish child to take a top bunk. (Disadvantage: DS1's 3yo younger sibling is always climbing up and bothering him in his bunk Grin)

My 8 year old never as shes the most extreme wriggle known to man! My DS about now, so 6.

I am the only person who has a fear of vomit splattered across the room from a great height?

(I'd design them with a bucket shaped hole to be used when sick).

My eldest went into a top bunk height bed at 4.
