Is it bad to go out while off sick (not unwell)

I have a sick note the runs out at the start of May, I am off because I broke my elbow and had to have an operation on it not that I have flu or anything.

I am a bit sad as I’m missing out tonight as pubs are back open and my friends have all gone out. My parents are telling me that I could go out next weekend if my arms feeling less sore (I’m 18 btw, I’m posting here as I wasn’t too sure else to, and I’d seen some old threads on here about something similar), but I feel that’s a bit cheeky, as much as I really want to go I don’t want to take the piss.

Apart from my arm being sore and slight withdrawal symptoms from my Oramorph I feel fine.

My Dad is a manager and he said he would be okay with someone from his team going to the pub as long as they were sensible, but I’m unsure. My line manager is really lovely, so I don’t want to disappoint her haha.

I do feel like I’m being a bit childish though for getting upset.

What do you all think? Would it be cheeky of me to go or should I just suck it up for a couple more weeks lol?

Going out with an injury to your arm is vastly different to trying to work with it. G out and enjoy yourself!

Perfectly fine to go out and have a drink with your friends, but as PP have said, don’t splash it all over SM. Not because you are doing anything wrong, but because people do like to moan and you don’t need the grief.

As others have said I'd just be careful with the pain meds and be careful of getting so drunk that you fall and do further damage to your elbow!! Relaxing and having a few drinks with your friends shouldn't be a problem though.

What @memberofthewedding says is very true. I’m currently off long term having pushed through the pain of my condition for a few years in a job which is physically harming me. When I went off I was unable to walk more than a few yards, now I can walk miles but I struggle to drive (big part of my job). I post pics on SM sometimes when I go out to walk because the views are amazing. What I haven’t posted are pics of me lying on the sofa drugged up to my eyeballs unable to move because the pain is unbearable because I’ve driven a short way. I’m not fussed about going to a pub, but if I did go out for lunch I’d probably post about that as it’s a reasonable thing to do when I’m not in pain!

At my work sometimes going on holiday is seen as part of the recovery. You are young and I would imagine seeing your girlfriends would really cheer you up. Do go out!

With a broken limb I think it depends on your job and what you are intending to do. A night out sat in a restaurant or pub seems reasonable to me.

The issue seems to be that some people are fraudulent, and some especially with mental health issues will never be believed.
