How much noise does a hot tub make at night?

Considering buying one and reading that it should be kept on constantly and not turned off. So my number one concern is about noise overnight and how loud that is when we have windows open for us and neighbours. I don't want to be a nuisance. Would like to hear from those who own one. Not thought about models yet as the answer to this may determine if and what we buy. Thank you!

My neighbour hired one last weekend and I'm hoping they didn't like it that much that they decide to purchase one 😂. The humming really set my son of on a meltdown ( he has asd and sensory issues) .
But they are lovely neighbours who put up without noise so I'm sure he would get used to it eventually 🤞

@Butterfly44 that’s correct. The hard shelled ones are much quieter. Ours has its own clean cycle. We test the chemicals everyday and add if needed (takes 5 mins max).

Interested in thread as we are considering one . No really close neighbours though .but we were looking at ones that do in line cleaning and quiet if possible .

Way too much! My neighbours have just got one & it's driving me batty.
It's so loud that they have to shout to even hear themselves talk & the first time DP heard it he thought it was a low police helicopter it's that loud.

I lost it the other day as their dogs bark all day & then in the evening I have to listen to that.

It's about 10 foot from by bedroom window & I can't take much more of it.

Seriously consider your neighbours before buying.

JurassicShay · 17/04/2021 12:20

It's not the hum it's the jets!

Ineedaneasteregg · 17/04/2021 12:26

Normally the hum of the filter is pretty quiet.
The bubbles are louder so I wouldn't do them late in the night.
We have an inflatable one and although we don't have any super close neighbors I can't imagine anyone being disturbed by it.

I have asd and have never been able to get used to humming noises, so I'd be surprised if your son just tunes it out santa (though I hope he does obviously!)

Could you hire one OP and see how noisy it is?

PenfoldPenny · 17/04/2021 13:52

Im very glad indeed none of my neighbours have got one. The continual hum would be very bothersome to me. Plus the eco waste of the motor being on all the time. Those would be my two moans before I even start getting wound up by the hours and hours of noise of people in it shrieking etc. Urgh. My neighbours are annoying but thankfully thus far - no hot tub!

SympathyFatigue · 17/04/2021 14:14

What a waste of money. Pumps and heating running all day and night, chemicals, annoying sounds.
Oh my god.
Just go sit in your bath.
