To think they shouldn’t have contacted my emergency contact?

Name change as old one is a childhood nickname and identifies me a bit. Not UK.

Recently moved into a lovely rented flat in a big city, and one of the issues was the flat came without parking (I use my car for work because I’m outreach) so this was sort of a big deal

The estate agent said it was possible to rent a car parking space from neighbours and so I rented the flat and when I moved in went to speak to the neighbour about the space. Neighbour was great and said just start paying me for the space on the 1st may but can use now, no worries.

So I’ve been parking there and it’s been fine. Today (of all days) I had to go to on a training course at a local hospital- and decided to go by train. Left 6:30 this morning, phone turned off when I got there as instructed.

I’ve turned my phone back on to four missed calls and three voicemails from the estate agent saying that “flat next door needs me to move my car ASAP as he is moving some stuff out today”- also alongside two emails from estate agent and frantic messages from my mum who estate agent called saying I’d not answered the phone! Estate agent said in email that neighbour had been knocking on my door to no response, (because I’m not there) and had put a few notes through the door this morning but now hadn’t got a response (because I’m not there)

The train is delayed and I won’t be home til late, but AIBU to be annoyed? I was in all night last night and nobody asked me to move it in prep for the morning. Estate agents voicemails were shitty tbh and a bit bothered they upset my mum over nothing (she’s a worrier)

Also is this a start of many issues with a bloody parking space?! I wasn’t being a CF and haven’t had any issues up til now!

I imagine they didn’t speak to you last night as they didn’t realise you would go by train and leave your car all day.

Is the person leaving that flat? Where will you park if they are & the new person wants to use the space?

YANBU they agreed you could use it, if they needed it then they should have given you notice. You wouldn't expect the person renting the flat out to turn up saying they need it would you? And ringing your mum is just shitty, you ring emergency contacts in an emergency, this wasn't an emergency.

Yes, I'd say this is going to be an ongoing problem. "Can you move your car, my mum is visiting." "Can you move your car, we have a delivery." "Can you move your car, we have a skip coming."

YANBU! They should have given you 24 hours notice at least.

YANBU.
