Not a big issue but curious! I'm in the UK and have just bought some soap and bath salts online from a British company. I was a bit taken aback when the online form asked me to consider "showing you care by tipping us 5%, 10%, 15% or 20% on your order". Umm no. I wanted soap, I thought your price was fair so I paid for the soap. I'm not adding more. [And this is not about online shops soliciting donations for charity. I don't have a problem with that.] AIBU or is it strange to expect me to voluntarily pay up to 20% more than the retail price for something?

How strange! If they want more money then they need to up their prices!

I've seen this before with a new-ish, small business. I bought some earrings through her Instagram account, I love the earrings and am happy with the price I paid, at checkout there was a box suggesting I leave a monetary tip to help her develop her business.
