DH annoyed me tonight

Can somebody advise if I'm being unreasonable here as Dh is pissing me off
He ordered a new bed for us around 3 weeks ago , bed cost 826 quid and he agreed to pay which is nice of him and I was grateful for this and the fact he ordered the bed
Tonight I went on the website to have another look at said bed because we are gonna be changing our bedroom colour scheme to accommodate this so just wanted to put eyes on it again

I have then noticed that said bed is 526 pounds, exact same super king size bed we have ordered , this is a very well known company and apparently they are having a flash sale
I told DH and suggested he called the company tomorrow, he said 'it doesn't matter don't worry about it thats the price we agreed to pay ' am I right to be absoloutley pissed off that he won't contact the company and is just happy to write off 300 pounds , he won't even try to see I'm there is anything we can do ?? The only reason he won't ring is because he doesn't want to spend his lunch break at work tomorrow on the phone
His attitude towards money at times infuriates me , I have the customer order number but it wasn't ordered in my name , surely its worth a call to ask them to price match or we could cancel and re order? We got a call last week saying that the company will be making the bed at the end of the month so it isn't even made yet

@BeaLola

It's a big difference and if they've not made it yet ......

What are the terms on the order - can you cancel within x period for a refund especially as not made yet ?

I think it doesnt hurt to ask as long as you're honest about it - not saying you wouldn't be OP

£300 goes a long way to new sheets etc

Glad to hear your update - what bedding did you get for the £300Smile
Sjdmcfeet · 15/04/2021 15:55

Dh was absoloutley fine about it and happy with the saving also, he has told me to use the funds for some really nice bedding
Has anybody any good quality bedding suggestions? I want to spend the full 300 on some nice bedding Smile

Well done!

Merryoldgoat · 15/04/2021 23:06

King of Cotton do lovely bedding. Hotel type but at good prices.

Their towels are good too.

womaninatightspot · 15/04/2021 23:15

Soak and sleep do good bed linen. I own a holiday cottage and it's my go to for lovely white linen. Also Justlinen has really good sales, I've gotten some really gorgeous heavily reduced throws from there.

Isaidnope · 15/04/2021 23:18

So if you bought a pair of trainers from ASOS tomorrow for £50, then saw they were in the same 3 weeks later for £20 would you call ASOS up to ask for the £30 difference? You’re being a bit ridiculous really.

oobedobe · 15/04/2021 23:19

Well done for a good outcome.

Very surprised to read a couple of comments that it wouldn't occur to them to ask for the 'new' discount. I would have thought that was common sense.

I found many shops will offer a price reduction if a full price item goes in the sale within 7 days of purchase. They would rather sell it you for a bit less than risk you cancelling the order.

You think it’s ridiculous to - successfully - recoup £300? What an odd view you have.

If o has ordered £50 trainers from ASOS that were then reduced to £20, and mine hadn’t yet been delivered (let’s actually make this comparable to the OP) then yes I would cancel the original order and re-order at the lower price.

I can understand someone might be less bothered to do the 5 minutes clicking or phone call for £30 than £300... but neither is “ridiculous”. 🙄

Sjdmcfeet · 16/04/2021 00:14

@Isaidnope
The bed hasn't been delivered yet its not like iv slept in it and asked for a reduction they havnt even made it yet and customer services was more than happy to help
Thanks for the bedding recommendations everybody can tell I'm getting old I'm really excited for My new bed and bedding Grin

We once got an American style fridge freezer. Delivery men damaged it, so was returned. On checking the website that day, I noticed it has been reduced by £200. Asked the shop could the refund the difference whilst we waited for the redelivery of the replacement fridge. It was declined. So I then cancelled the order and reordered again.

sorryforswearing · 16/04/2021 00:54

Great! I’d have had to ask too.

Buckingafout · 16/04/2021 01:04

Great result! Just goes to show, it's worth asking.

Hempden · 16/04/2021 01:25

Well done OP! Glad to hear you saved your £300.

Nanny0gg · 16/04/2021 01:25

I'll still never understand separate finances in a marriage.

Tallybo · 16/04/2021 01:28

I still can't get over you feeling "0grateful" he bought a bed- weird. Each to their own though. I would have also phoned.

BlueDahlia69 · 16/04/2021 03:13

femfemlicious · 16/04/2021 04:16

@Sjdmcfeet good jobGrin. £300 is a helluva lot of money!. Im a broke ass and i NEVER buy anything full price. Always sale items and i always wonder about the people who paid full price😁

blubberball · 16/04/2021 05:01

Well done OP!

Nicolastuffedone · 16/04/2021 06:05

Well done! I’d have done exactly the same!

Sjdmcfeet · 18/04/2021 10:15

Thanks everybody for your lovely comments @Nanny0gg I'm not sure what you don't get about the finances we both work full time he gets his wage into his account I get my wage into mine , we each put 600 quid into a savings account (joint) then he pays for food shops, nursery and an equal proportion of the bills to me, we each then have our own personal spending money , it's all very equal and my appreciation for him buying the bed as iv stated already is because ordinarily we would take anexpense like that from joint savings but we are using joint saving to move house next year
