I had something very similar to this about a month ago. It was on the back of my thigh and I panicked thinking the worst. I went to The Mole Clinic (I'm in London) and for £50 got a same day appointment and they did some scans/checks. It was absolutely fine and just a kind of birthmark that had been irritated. It's now gone back down and doesn't sting anymore.

Just wanted to offer some reassurance as know how scary these things can be xx

On the first photo it looks like a sore (maybe a bite that you've scratched?) that has got fluff from trousers or jeans stuck to it.

goodbyeyellowbrick · 14/04/2021 09:12

@Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady it does look like that, that's what I initially thought, but it's definitely not. Have scrubbed it.

She's not sure what it is...she squeezed it and it hurts so she thinks I've bumped it and it's scabbing over. She gave me some antibiotic cream and said to go back if still there in a few weeks. She said a few weeks won't make a difference 'in that respect' whatever that means. Feel relieved and as if I wasted everyone's time. Sorry!

It’s never a waste of time! So many people leave it too late to get something potentially life threatening checked out, and wish they’d done something sooner. Knowledge is power. Hope it clears up and that’s the end to it!

JaneJeffer · 14/04/2021 13:11

Glad to hear it. Hopefully it will disappear back to where it came from!
