Does anyone know? Say I get run over by a bus, my phone is locked, how do they find someone to call? Or if a child is in accident, how do they find parents?

Such a useful thread and, as a result, my husband and I have filled in the emergency info and added ICE to our emergency contacts for good measure. Never knew of either, so thank you.

How do you add info to the Lock Screen of an iPhone?

My mum was killed in a car accident. She was travelling back from holiday and had her passport in her handbag with NOK details in.

I have DH’s number as my ICE contact on my lock screen using an app.

Hi OP, when my friend's mum was in an accident the police went round to the address listed on the car registration and asked the neighbours for a name or address for NOK. My friend's mum had NOK on her phone but they couldn't access it at the scene as it got smashed in the accident. So this isn't a reliable method and the liaison officer later said it is good to have details in your purse/wallet, the car and phone.

Unfortunately my friend had a different surname from marriage and the neighbours couldn't remember it and had no phone number or address but they new the GP my friend's mum was at. The police phoned the GP and got my friend's details and turned up at the front door. It took 7 hours after the accident to find my friend and officers to reach her house. They took her to the hospital and she just made it to be with her mum before she passed away.

I sometimes do this as part of my job. We sometimes ring the last called person if not obvious who else to call. This sometimes leads to very confused conversations 😁
