Neighbours Garden is a mess

There is a family who lives a couple of doors down who are quite, unsavoury, shall we say. Their garden is a mess, they have 2 of each colour bin in their front garden and often on some the lid isn't closed. There is litter all over their garden and on a daily basis I end up with litter in mine due to it blowing in. Also I have to go up the street picking litter up constantly.

I'm really annoyed by it but don't feel like saying anything would be welcome or taken on board.

What would you do about it?!

@WeeGobshiteBentBastard

You should volunteer to clean their garden up, OP. You've clearly got the time.
Yes, you're right, I should work full time and then go cleaning up in my neighbours garden, in all that spare time I have on my hands!

Apart from the litter Hmm I don’t mind having neighbours with untidy gardens as it always makes mine look better Grin

Prompted by this thread I went out and had a look at my garden. Between the dead Land Rover and the remains of a concrete mixer, I found a chunk of metal which, I realised, was probably a tool used back in the days in the local (now redundant) quarry. It's now on its way to the local museum.

One less thing to trip over and I award this thread the Mumsnet's contribution to Industrial Archaeology medal of honour.

Steady on @TheSandman, any more interesting donations and they'll be wanting to excavate your garden. Dont answer the doorGrin

I'm going to echo a pp. I had a very ill child for several years and spent most of my time in hospital with her. I used the garden as a dumping ground and at the time thought nothing of it (we were owner occupiers). One day the neighbour who is a BTL LL came around screaming at me about the mess, I nearly died of shock, because at that time when I had so much stress I just didn't see it myself. We moved from that house and I still can't bring myself to drive down the road because of the shame. Rather than label these people do consider that they might have dire circumstances to contend with. That of course doesn't mean you shouldn't put complaints in with the authorities.
