Hi all,

Am I being unreasonable to think the photos attached are chicken pox? My husband isn't so sure?

Ars they just on the legs?

dementedpixie · 12/04/2021 07:17

Are*

knittingaddict · 12/04/2021 07:18

Are they fluid filled blisters? Can't tell from that distance. If they are then probably CP.

musicalfrog · 12/04/2021 07:18

Chicken pox are more like blisters on the skin. These look like bites.

gingerandproud4always · 12/04/2021 07:19

I'll call GP today. There's a few elsewhere but not many. Few on her face. Thank you!

As someone said above, it's fairly unusual for them to just be on legs. It often starts on the body first.

dementedpixie · 12/04/2021 07:20

Were there fluid filled blisters that have burst and gone scabby?

Mumdiva99 · 12/04/2021 07:20

Looks more like some sort of excema - I am not a doctor though. (If gp call doesn't help take the pictures to your pharmacist.)

knittingaddict · 12/04/2021 07:21

So are they fluid filled?

No need to call GP for CP.

TheJackieWeaver · 12/04/2021 07:23

Generally with chicken pox, you get a few spots, think “is this it?” then within the next 12 hours, you know.

Worth a call to a GP if you remain unsure?

Soubriquet · 12/04/2021 07:25

I want to say yes they are but honestly they don’t look like pox

Rooberoobe · 12/04/2021 08:04

Could it be molluscum contagiosum? It doesn’t spread around the body quickly like CP does.

Silvercatowner · 12/04/2021 08:09

Chicken pox generally starts on the abdomen and the spots are tiny, red, and very obviously fluid filled. And within a few hours they have multiplied...

4PawsGood · 12/04/2021 08:11

I agree that within 12-24 hours you’ll know if it is.
It’s nothing that needs urgent medical care either way. Don’t send to nursery though.

Spudbyanyothername · 12/04/2021 08:13

It’s not molluscum contagiosum. It could be chicken pox. The fluid filled blisters of chickenpox burst quite easily. As there are some on face it makes it more likely.

If the child is well I’d wait 24 hrs and see if it becomes more clear.

How were they today @gingerandproud4always ?
