When Covid is over I’m taking my kids to England for the fist time. They’re in their teens. Never been to UK before and want them to see and experience different areas. Where would you go?

Bath, Windsor, Oxford or Cambridge (kind of similar so not both if only got 2 weeks) Buckingham palace, I love Swanage if your kids would like the seaside and there is a steam train you can get to corfe castle. I’m a southerner and don’t know the north very well but York is fabulous

Is there a reason why not Wales, Scotland too?

Hastybird · 12/04/2021 16:11

Probably time, 2 weeks isn't long...

FireflyRainbow · 12/04/2021 16:14

It's boring here and cold.

FireflyRainbow · 12/04/2021 16:16

Go to Cambridge, not Oxford. We have enough people 😂 joking op. Hope you have a lovely time. It is cold though!

FireflyRainbow · 12/04/2021 16:17

I always find it crazy that people actually want to come to Oxford on holiday.

Depends what you're looking for but I'd probably do a week city based and a week coastal or country based. London is the obvious choice if you want to be spoilt for choice of activities and see the famous landmarks.

For me, Scotland wins hands down for outstanding beauty. Having grown up in England I only went for the first time at 33 years old and I loved it as much as I knew I would. Beautiful place and Edinburgh is also great.

Where are you coming from? If you're not coming from the states then there are a few theme parks which the kids might enjoy (Alton Towers or Blackpool Pleasure Beach in particular).

Wales has lots to offer and is quite compact. Cardiff, mountains/lakes, some lovely coast, puffins depending on when you visit, lots of opportunities for active days out (climbing, caving, zip lining).

You could also fly over to Northern Ireland if you wanted to visit our unattached sister?

What are your interests? The obvious choice isn't always the best.
