Cooked a leg of lamb last Sunday and as is my way I forgot about the leftovers until today. So, wise AIBU people, WWYD?

YANBU Eat it, as long as you make sure its properly heated you will be fine

YABU Chuck it out immediately and hang your head in shame at the waste

Bin bin bin! 🤮

DragonPoop · 09/04/2021 16:18

I personally wouldn’t, 5 days is too long for me. 3 days would be pushing it.

pepsicolagirl · 09/04/2021 16:31

I was going to... but it was slimy.

Hmm

thanks all for your input.

Ah fair enough...that’s a fairly good indicator that it’s not okay... Wink

We are still eating the roast lamb from Easter Day. It's been in the fridge at all times and is perfectly fine!

@Procrastatron

Some bacteria produce toxins and in these cases it’s the toxins that make you sick. Microwaving the shit out of something may well kill the bacteria but it won’t address the toxins. Bin it
This. It may not smell bad either. Five days is far too long. Bin it.
MyGorramShip · 09/04/2021 16:50

Toxins aren’t killed by heat, nor are spores.

Bin it.

3 days maximum in the fridge from day of cooking. Plus always do the smell and look it over test before reheating until it's piping hot.
