To be fair, I don't much like the Ike and Tina Turner version of this song - and I love Tina Turner.

Why did I go in for a listen? Awful. Can't stand her voice as it is.

Over 30 year ago I saw Tina Turner in concert at Wembley arena. Still remember it today and it was the best concert I have ever been to and I used to go to a lot.

I've been reading about the production of it. It was made when Phil Spector was at his height, maybe starting to be a bit passe, and believed that the producer was of paramount importance. So he walled the sound out of it. Buried her vocal so deep it needed more than a river...

I think it is always the 80s in Celine Land. That's her whole appeal, probably.

She is known as "Sealion" Dion in our house, and any sing by her is accompanied by the clapping of hands and sealion style barking.
