You are very overweight. Dh is and says it’s not that overweight. I’m concerned about his health

He did yes won’t go into too much detail but his depression involved multiple serious attempts on his life. He’s now a year Suicide attempt free and was discharged from the psychiatrists care back in December.

The Quetiapine itself at that dosage will be having almost no impact on weight. DD1 was prescribed a similar dose when suffering from severe anorexia She was - as integral to her illness - strictly controlling her food intake and she continued to lose huge amounts of weight every week (she is thankfully much better now and off the Quetiapine, but it was very helpful to her over an exceedingly challenging 6 months of her life). It can certainly be helpful at low doses to people with sleep issues. And in DD’s case it allowed her access a more peaceful place in her mind so as to be more open to therapeutic intervention. Don’t be put off it if it’s helpful. Though I hope your DH is having regular blood tests.

On your main question, even if he is tall, 6 stone is very overweight. But given his history, how you tackle this is really hard. I felt for you.

I disagree that it will be having no effect on his weight.
Also stand by my comment that it isn’t his most important health concern

You’re dh is recovering from a serious mental illness. I can see nothing to be gained from discussing whether he’s seriously overweight or not. He is almost certainly aware that he is, but clearly not in a mental place to deal with it.

I have supported him but we have three children and obviously being overweight risks his physical health.
