Is this the going rate? To look after later primary twins. Very easy. No cooking or childcare.
Just to take them out for football / cinema etc.

Summer hols... 5 hours a day twice a week.

Reasonable?

Thanks

All good! £10 a hour I offered an response was “thank you, would love the job I’m you think I’m the right fit for them”. Yes I said, absolutely (my twins adore him!)
His mother (a friend) messaged to say he’s over the moon to have secured the job as basically his dream job for the summer.
Being paid to play football, cricket, bike rides and all expenses trips to cinema and theme parks!

Thanks all

My dh would jump at the chance to do something like this (teacher, school hols off), and he would be happy with that amount too (£1500 if the whole 6 weeks hol which would in turn pay for our holiday).

IdblowJonSnow · 07/04/2021 17:21

Definitely fine. In fact I would do that job OP, especially if I got a cinema ticket and icecream out of it!

That's basically what a lot of teaching assistants are paid so I think that's pretty good. Although I do think that TAs are underpaid (I am one, so would think that Grin).

I'd happily look after two children, doing fun things, for that money.

@AvocadosBeforeMortgages

Minimum wage for anyone age 23+ is £8.91 per hour, so this is hardly a particularly generous wage.
he's not 23 plus though, he's 19, so that's irrelevant. Minimum wage for under 21s is £6.56, so that is more generous. I think £10 sounds great, OP, and the person sounds like a good fit with your kids which is the most important thing.

Eh, I would say that's really good money. I'm a childminder and average £4 an hour per child!

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 07/04/2021 21:44

And I take the minded kids out most days to do clubs and softplays etc and I pay for it all!

I pay £10 p/h for a teenage babysitter in London
