To buy a counter top dishwasher?

Our new house doesn't have space for a dishwasher or a slimline.

The thought of going back to doing loads of washing up makes me want to cry.

AIBU to buy a counter top one? Or do I just get over it and get use to washing up again Sad

Honestly I would forgo a cupboard and have a slimline dishwasher but if you absolutely can't I would get a countertop one. I think it is hard to get glasses and plates properly squeaky clean by washing in a sink. Not to say they aren't clean but I like the squeakiness of dishwasher glasses,

I have used a couple of them in holiday rental homes, and I was impressed with how much they fit. We are a family of 5 and put it on most nights.

I’m sure newer models have improved as well. I’d say get one.

@MyDcAreMarvel I don't have a dryer in my kitchen? So wouldn't have an empty cavity to put in a dishwasher in. Otherwise that would have been an obvious solution. Not everyone has space for dryers in their kitchens. And actually I wouldn't even have space to put a dryer upstairs. My kitchen has countertop space but underneath is an oven cavity, a washing machine cavity, awkward under sink space and lots of skinny cupboards that are too skinny for a slimline. Believe me I have tried to work out any possibility for an integrated one!

Thanks for the recommendations people who posted, I'm definitely going to put some money aside
