To be concerned with early weaning?

24 week old was up nearly every hour

my 24 week old's sleep has always been very incosistent. since birth could be up from 8 times a night but sometimes twice. However, for the past week or sk she has been sleeping pretty well (up once usually for a feed)
until last night she was back to waking up nearly every hour bar a 4 hour stretch and couldnt understand why... earlier in the day she had managed to grab a piece of pitta bread of toddler. she had sucked on it, but after seeing her gnawing on it left her to it as she is going to be 6 months in 2 weeks. however, in worried if it was too early and that affected her sleep? sounds stupid, she has had a few spoons of baby rice before this but im worried as today she had two dirty nappies. one being quite loose (had gone up back)
should I be worried she could have a wheat allergy?

She sucked on pitta bread, two weeks before she turns six months old?

She'll be fine.

Definitely don't worry about (accidentally) weaning at 24 weeks, that is fine if baby is ready. However it is common that weaning can affect sleep whilst they get used to it. It doesn't necessarily mean an allergy. I would probably try to wean with veg etc for a bit, and move on to bread etc in a bit.

But also on the basis she barely ingested anything, it's likely to be a coincidence.

Thanks for responses
When she dropped the pitta bread there were little bits that she'd sucked off so must have swallowed them if that makes sense..like when you suck bread and it goes all soggy and comes off in bits, so think she swallowed a few bits..just odd her stools were loose and up her back. Never happened before,

It will take a while for her body to get used to the wheat, bit doesn't necessarily mean she is allergic. I'd hold off on wheat for a while and keep an eye on it when you next offer it.

I think bread tends to clog you up rather than get things moving, so probably a coincidence.

My understanding is that the WHO recommendation to breastfeed/FF to at least six months is partly based on considering the quality of alternatives in poorer countries. If you are choosing between breastfeeding and giving a child unsafe water, obviously it's best to continue breastfeeding. I think that a child who has a morsel of bread at 5.5 months, in a country where that bread is likely quite clean, is probably fine.

It could be the extra nappies are because she's fussier and producing more saliva? Sometimes babies who are getting into the chewy phase do that.

My bet is on teeth appearing shortly if they haven’t already!

Our bubs are 25 weeks and both just got their first one. Sleep has been terrible x
