To go back to bed.

DS5 has started waking up early (today around 5am, and insisting on being downstairs by 6am) so I’ve been awake since 5am, and since it’s DHs turn for a long lie he’s been up since 8.30.

Lack of sleep often triggers a migraine for me. DH is taking DS to the park and raised an eyebrow when I said that I was going back to bed for an hour: he said that he was taking DS to the park so I could do the housework: not sleep.

Full disclosure: it is my turn for a long lie tomorrow

Aibu to just go for an hours sleep anyway

He’s actually usually great: and did more
Of the wife work than me for a long time (up until last year we were both working 4 days a week, but I did longer hours per day). I think because he wouldn’t go back to bed, he just thinks that I shouldn’t.

You're making excuses op. And 'wife work', just no! You're meant to be a team...

Moaning because I was drinking a cup of tea instead of chores or getting DS ready while he was in the shower. Pah. I’ve cleaned two rooms and sitting on my arse having a cuppa just now

You need to knock this on the head asap, for the sake of your DS if not for yourself.

Your DS may be little now but he's already absorbing some bad lessons about relationships and 'the woman's place in the home'

No one, but no one has the right to tell you to do the housework. Housework is something you negotiate and agree, as a team, as mentioned by the PP

"Sarky remarks
Moaning
Smug
moping about being a pain in the arse and miserable and grumpy"

So he's usually great apart from when he's doing all the above or moaning you're not doing enough housework Hmm (stop with the "wife work"!)

He doesn't sound great, he sounds unpleasant and unkind to his wife who is on her knees with tiredness.

You should set your bar higher, you deserve to be treated better than this.

What a nasty man! Does he see you as a person or a resource to maximise the use of?
