To ask what lone parents do during days out?

I mean during the part when the DC's are playing etc.
Had a lovely day out today but I feel like when they are occupied (at the park, wood etc) I just tend to look at my phone. Don't get me wrong I see a lot of people in relationships looking at their phones too but I suppose they could talk to eachother if they wanted.
Today it just felt like I was the only solo parent wherever I went Sad

Read or join in. I aim to take them to places that I enjoy too, so we go for walks in places I like, playgrounds that are quiet (so I can go on the swings and roundabout without holding up actual children), potter about the harbour or go to museums (open again soon!). Otherwise, it tends to be places where I am watching them the entire time, so no relaxing anyway.

I like watching mine play mostly, but also go on my phone or people watch all the kids and adults around me. Enjoy that time.

I'm not single but always alone when took DS out. Not an issue. Always watching him. Would not be looking at my phone

I'm not a single parent but I take my children out alone most of the time. I will sometimes ask a friend (pre covid) but very rarely. I prefer my own company and find it exhausting to make conversation with someone who is just a fellow parent rather than a very close friend or family member.
I even take my children on holiday on my own. We have a static caravan in wales and we go every few weeks. My husband will be at work
