Hi, first of all AIBU to help my dd friend who is worried and needs the 5 day morning after (whatever it's called) as she daren't ask her mum?

The problem is I know nothing about it or where she'd get one tomorrow which apparentely is the last day she can take it.

Any suggestions? Been supportive all night, have googled and running out of ideas, can anyone help?
Child is between gp's and not registered yet, so gp out of the question and would be emergency only on Good Friday.

Ellaone is the brand name for the pill that is effective up to 5 days after intercourse. Some.pharmacisys offer this for free if you live in a deprived area. However, the effectiveness goes down as the days go on and no MAP is effective at all if you've already ovulated. Pharmacists will ask questions about your last period to determine if it's likely you've already ovulated. If so, a coil can still be fitted.

To be fair to everyone who did respond in that manner it was only because the girls age wasn't mentioned in the op. The Dds friend could have been 13 for all we knew from the op.

Exactly the age wasn’t mentioned and I’m a bit surprised at 17 she would need any help with it really, most posters were assuming she was much younger she’s pretty much an adult.

But the point remains, why would you not help a 13 year old with this if she asked for it ? I know many people, ( at 13), who wouldn't have had sensible, non-judgemental parents who would have supported them. I know in most of these cases , telling the young person's parents , "be cause they had a right to know" would have led to extremely negative consequences for the young people involved.
