To think my body gets run down way too easily?

My body seems to get run down from stress way too easily, even after just a normal week at work. Work is not particularly stressful and yet it seems every week on my first day off my body feels run down even though mentally I don't feel stressed.

There are tell-tale symptoms I always get when I'm run down e.g. boils, twitching eyelid, ringing in my ears, my gums hurt (?).

Does anyone else experience this? How do I make my body more resilient to stress?

sometimes I won't eat or drink anything from 7am to 4pm
Sort that out first, is my advice.

Thank you all, I realise now I have been really neglecting my physical needs.

I've purchased a multivitamin which contains vitamin B12 and vitamin D among others so hopefully that will help. I'm also going to buy some healthy snacks to eat at work and make sure I take all of my breaks.

The only exercise I do is going for long walks on my days off but I will try and add in at least one workout a week. I am very active on my work days though as I'm constantly walking around.

The sleeping is quite difficult because I alternate day and night shifts every fortnight so some weeks I will do 3 day shifts, then 3 days off followed by 3 night shifts. I find it quite hard having to swap my sleep schedule around so often and feel like I'm always having to push through sleep deprivation on my first day of work.

Not normal no - go see your GP - exaggerate all symptoms for dramatic effect and get your bloods redone.

You aren’t looking after yourself so work on that at the same time - ranjan Chatterjee’s 4 piller plan is a great place to start

Eat three meals a day - good balanced ones - and stay hydrated. Why aren't you drinking between 7am and 4pm? That is TERRIBLE for your body!!! Please start taking a 2 litre bottle of water to work with you and a flask of tea. Also, stop for lunch between 12-1pm and eat something.

Your lack of exercise may well be contributing to how you feel. If I take little or no exercise I feel like shit. It's counter-intuitive, but three bouts of vigorous exercise a week should make you feel more energised than sitting around watching Netflix and going for gentle walks. In your 20s you should have lots of energy, not be feeling so listless.

I would also start taking a multivitamin and mineral supplement each day that is age appropriate (Well Woman or something).

And if all that doesn't help, go and see your doctor.
