To take blanket and book to cemetery?

I live in a flat with no outdoor spaces. There is a cemetery just behind my flat. Cemetaey used to be half allotments half graves. Allotment side was dug up to make room for more graves but current just grassed over no graves. Is it morally OK to take a small blanket and go sit on the grass to read a book? I'd sit on the allotment part away from the graves.

People walk their dogs where my mum and dad are buried - I'd have no problem with sitting in the peace and quiet reading a book. I'd maybe not get the bikini on though...

I can't imagine how hard it must be to have no outdoor space in these times and I can't imagine anyone begrudging you sitting quietly on that bit of ground x

I'm here! The old allotment bit where I am is at least 40 feet from nearest grave. I'm up a corner under a tree reading. I've said hello to 2 dogs and nodded to their owners.

I think sitting on a bench is fine, quiet reflection

Blanket seems too much like a fun picnic, so I wouldn't do that

My favorite local cemetery is also an arboretum. Anytime you go there there are people taking pictures, having picnics, and even having weddings.

YANBU.

I lived opposite one in Bristol till recently and was my only outdoor space!

I think what you are doing is absolutely fine.
I hope you enjoy your time outside and your book.

Yes it will be a nice quiet and peaceful place to sit in, which you have considered that it will be., and you can sit on whatever you choose.

Do it.

We used to live in a flat which backed onto a church and large cemetery at the top of a hill with fabulous far-reaching views.

On nice days, we used to take a cup of tea up there.
