Moving in with parents (Covid)

We are planning to move in with parents this summer after we sell our place so we can look for a new one. Hopefully it’s short term and we find something we like quickly. One thing that bothering me a bit is the Covid situation. Is it a bad idea to move in with parents because of potential vaccine resistant variants esp next winter? DH and I both can work from home so we wouldn’t have exposure but our kids would be going to nursery.

If your/his parents are ok with the risk, I don't see a problem. You need to speak to them about it.

It sounds like they have given the go ahead? As long as that was their own choice, and they are not feeling obligated / compromised, then they have the right to want to help you in that way. Variants will be around for a long time, so in my view either say goodbye to your parents forever (sorry to be harsh!) or get on with life. Given that they've welcomed you in, I'd say they are in the latter boat!

Yeah no sense of obligation as they suggested it and are very excited planning for it. I think they have really missed us and the grandkids. I guess I want to be responsible and think things through. If it got really bad next winter I could pull the kids out of nursery (although I feel bad that they haven’t had much interaction with anyone but us for over a year) and get a nanny who is in a bubble with us I suppose.
