AIBU to think it's not possible to work this out?

Job listed as £16680 Per Annum Full Time but Pro Rata for Part Time Employees. The hours of work are 10 per week. AIBU to think this is impossible to work out surely without knowing what they define as Full Time? The job itself isn't a Full Time job. It's ten hours a week because that's what the job requires. Nobody does the job Full Time.

Full time is likely 36 or 37 hours so 16680x 10/36 (10/37) so 4633 pa. (4508)
Jobs are generally shown as full time salaries for comparison. It’s not a difficult calculation

I would work it out on a 40 hour week for ease. Even if FT was considered to be 37 hours the figures won’t be too far out.

Subordinateclause · 29/03/2021 17:07

You could work out roughly what it'd be. I'd assume full time to be 37.5 hrs.

ThePricklySheep · 29/03/2021 17:08

Can you find another job ad from the same company that says what full time is?

CoralieSim · 29/03/2021 17:09

Yes, I know how to calculate it but it's not possible to get an accurate figure because Full Time could be anything between 30 and 42.5. They haven't said what they class as FT.

Usually 37.5hrs ime

ThePricklySheep · 29/03/2021 17:10

It will very probably be 35 or 37.5 though won’t it?
What sort of job is it?

PatriciaHolm · 29/03/2021 17:11

It appears to be based on a national living wage of £8.91 an hour, for 36 hours a week over the year - 8.91 x 36 x 52 = £16,679.52.

So it will be £8.91 an hour (NLW assuming you are 25 or over)

CoralieSim · 29/03/2021 17:11

And the FT Salary of 16680 when worked out as 37.5 hours a week actually makes the hourly wage £8.55 which is less than minimum wage so it can't be 37.5 hours.

Thank you, that seems to make the most sense. I did think the job would be NMW so that definitely works.

At our place of work full time is usually 36.5 hours per week. It looks about minimum wage to me, so just multiply that by your hours. So as long as you're over 23 then its £8.91 per hour.
