If they had admitted to making a number of sexual community to various different patients. I don’t want to disbelieve someone but I feel surely it would be unlikely. He apparently lied at first and then admitted it when a number of people came forward?

Well it could be because it's not true
Or it could be because it wasn't proven
Or it could be because he admitted it and repented and was rehabilitated
If there's nothing in his GMC reg then nothing has been officially upheld by them

@gobbynorthernbird

Is this your friend's psychiatrist?
Is this the same thread which keeps getting repeated from slightly different angles? If not I am sorry, but if so I am worried about you/your friend op.
gobbynorthernbird · 29/03/2021 16:15

@MichelleScarn I do believe it is. Some serious issues here.

Is there a backstory? It sounds like the OP doesn't know who to believe so is trying to find out whether what someone has told her is true?

You can lose you med school place though, which is essentially the same result- you can’t ever practice as a doctor.

Yes but technically they're not 'struck off' because they've never been registered with the GMC and the allegations would never have been seen / considered by the GMC. The decision to remove a med school place lies with the school & Deanery.

iklboo · 29/03/2021 16:35

Also decisions to 'strike off' or not are no longer made by the GMC. The MPTS make those decisions & there's nothing the GMC can do about it apart from maybe appeal it.

Why don't you answer my earlier question as to your involvement in this story? Why is it of relevance to you?

Reinventinganna · 29/03/2021 17:12

Are you the same person that posted the other day about your ‘friend’ seeing a psychiatrist that another ‘friend’ had made allegations about?

MichelleScarn · 29/03/2021 17:19

@ismiseeire there's a poster who has made various threads with different issues with medical professionals always alluding to something but never being clear about what it is that the health professional has allegedly done and asks how to get this info or background information on them and is always 'asking for a friend'.

ismiseeire · 29/03/2021 17:21

Ok, thanks Michelle. I won't waste my time in that case.

CharlotteRose90 · 29/03/2021 17:23

From experience if the GP made sexual comments and was found guilty by the GMC then yes he would be struck off. I’m guessing if he’s working then the allegations got dropped or it was proved it never happened. If it didn’t happen to you or your family I would leave well alone.
