DD has just managed to climb up onto the sofa, fall off and bang under his eye. There's a 1cm ish cut just under his eye and it look deep.

He's fine on himself and happily having a breastfeed but my gut is telling me it might need glueing.. Should I take him up to get it checked?

Sorry, he's not had an accident like this before and I'm doubting myself.

You might need to ring first. Our adult and children's A&E make you ring first since Covid19 started.

Thank you! I took him up and it has been glued. We were in and out within the hour and the doctor was so lovely. He's having a monster nap now because we missed it but seems happy enough.

The annoying thing about here is that to get into minor injuries you have to be referred from the A&E reception. Majorly impressed with them though.

@Aimee1987

I cut myself in a similar area when I was a n adult. Was at a sporting event so paramedics were present. They told me if its withing the triangle of the face they automatically say it needs to be checked properly to make sure there is no damage to the eye socket. I would take him, or at a minimum ring 111 and ask them.
This is what I was told when my GS, aged 3, cut his chin. Paramedic said the same, advised a&e. GS was given very thorough check, (and chin glued).
