This is really badly highlighted hair isn't it? (Bonus pic included)

Long story short moved to wales a month ago and managed to get an appointment with a local salon. Website looked nice, Solon looked nice etc
Went in on Saturday to get full head highlights, my hair is shoulder length. I went in the salon at 10am and came out at 3.30pm which felt much much longer than usual (had toner, conditioner treatment etc) and when I washed my hair the next day in noticed that the highlights didn't always go up to the roots.
I've sent them a message to say I'm not happy with the result what do you think?
Never noticed anything like this before when I've had highlights done before and although it took time it didn't ever take that long

That's shockingly bad - sorry! I would complain.

AntiSocialDistancer · 28/03/2021 12:44

They should fix that patch

Shopliftersoftheworldunite · 28/03/2021 12:50

Yeah OP that is laughably bad. Is your hair dry or wet on this photo (sorry I can't tell!) and if wet on the photo what does it look like dry? (I would still go back because they just look pretty poor in general!).

Sportysporty · 28/03/2021 12:50

Awful and very brassy!

PawPatrolOnARoll · 28/03/2021 12:51

Sorry but that's not good, they should definitely fix it!

Spied · 28/03/2021 12:52

Yes, it is.

BobbidyBob · 28/03/2021 13:00

Eek, those are terrible. I wouldn’t be going back - I’d want a refund so I could use the money to go somewhere else to get it fixed.

Basicbitching · 28/03/2021 13:02

It's bad, I've highlighted my hair by myself and it was better than that and even then it looked shit. Sorry but they should be fixing that for you ASAP.

ItsAHardKn0ckLife1 · 28/03/2021 13:02

Sorry OP, that’s v badly done! Hopefully they fix it without much fuss.

FlashBathroom · 28/03/2021 13:03

I agree with @BobbidyBob I wouldn't trust them to do it again - get a refund and go somewhere better

hairychinsrus · 28/03/2021 13:13

Thanks for your replies I've sent them a message with the photo saying I'm not happy. I obviously won't be going there again and although I wanted it very blond it also looks brassy I think.
Photo was taken with wet hair
Do you think refund or get them to sort it out? I don't want a free treatment next time as I won't be going back

This is the worry. Months away from work, wearing visors etc. I worry how well they can see and if skills are lost.

user1494055864 · 28/03/2021 13:24

I'd try for a refund. You shouldn't see the roots that easily, let alone the big patch they've missed !!

DianaT1969 · 28/03/2021 13:28

Be clear from the outset that you'll only accept a refund. It wouldn't matter if the salon owner offers to fix it. Say that clearly their standards aren't good as they let you walk out with it. The trust is gone. Go to a colour specialist to fix it.

luckylavender · 28/03/2021 13:34

Slightly missing the point, but why would you wash you hair the day after a 'full do?'

Mumof1andacat · 28/03/2021 13:36

I always have half head of high lights, cut and blow dry with straighteners. I'm there about 2 - 2hr 1/2 (depending on the chatting!) So some has gone wrong....I would be wanting my money back. Your hair looks bleached!

Atalune · 28/03/2021 13:37

Be interesting to see how it looks dry?

ButIcantsitonleather · 28/03/2021 13:43

The foil has not been placed close enough to the roots. And the toner hasn’t been left on long enough. I think in all the years of having colour, I’ve been happy with it maybe two times. ☹️

PandaFluff · 28/03/2021 13:49

I'd ask if someone with more experience can fix it.
It must be hard to see what you are doing with those visors on

BrilliantBetty · 28/03/2021 13:49

It's very uneven at the route. They'll probably offer to fix it for you, but doubt they'll give a full refund (though they should). If you do let them fix it up make sure it's the most senior colourist.

It's so disappointing walking out the salon, looking in the mirror at home and it's not right.

BrilliantBetty · 28/03/2021 13:50

Root**

Stratfordplace · 28/03/2021 14:34

You need a toner to take out the brassy tone

DaphneDuBois · 28/03/2021 15:56

It’s very poor. You could give them the chance to fix it for free but I’d insist on it being re-done by the most senior colourist. If you get a refund it might not be enough to cover the cost of going elsewhere to get the toner / colour correction done (someone else suggested this so assume they are in the know) as well.
