Toddler boys hair

My parents are obsessed with my toddlers hair. Apparently I need to get it cut so he looks like a “real boy”🙄

It’s a mop of blonde curls. Super fine and not even shoulder length.

Surely it’s fine as it is?

My eldest (14) has long hair, and the 5yo and 3yo too. Youngest also mop of blonde curls. YANBU. Keep as is🙌

I get told off by one side of the family if their hair is "too long" and the other side if I dare to cut it ever. Bollocks to anyone else, they are not the parent.

My 2.5 year old DS has long-ish blonde hair. It's totally up to you what kind of hair your son has.

My eldest had the most beautiful strawberry-blonde curls in masses by the time he was 1. Thicker than my hair has ever been (along with the longest lashes I've seen on a person), and stupidly we cut it (it was summer and thought he was too warm). Never grew back the same, now he has his father's Harry Potter hair - grows quickly and in every direction. Never a curl again Sad. His brother still has baby-fine hair at 3, and has needed about 2 good cuts in his life.

Keep it as it is, unless there's a very good reason not to.

Have you asked the child? I just go with that for all my children. Not many under 3 will sit there for a haircut. So you either do it over a couple of hours (why bother) or pinned them down (not something I'd do to a child).

But i am sure MN is full of children who not only sit still for a cut but can probably cut their own to professional standards. Wink

My grandson had lovely long curls last summer up until around November, when he had his first propped hair cut. I cried inside when I saw him with a proper style! He’s not had it cut since and the curls are back. He looks beautiful- most certainly not girly at all though.

my DNephew had beautiful curly hair when he was little, SIL had it cut and it grew back poker straight Sad but he did look quite feminine with he shoulder length blonde curls
