She took an overdose on Wednesday and was unfortunately passed out. She’s complained that the put a catheter in as she feels embarrassing and said they should have woken her up. I’ve told her they were doing their best for her and she’s got nothing to be embarrassed about.

It sounds like she’s in a dark place and needs some support and sympathy.

Yes sounds like she could do with being supported. It might feel embarrassing to her. Is she actually making a formal complaint or just moaning to you about it? I'd let her moan, sounds like she's been through a tough time.

She’d have felt more embarrassed if she soiled herself.

She is BVU but understandably in moment of such distress.
If this was an emergency they have to act quickly and won't be able to wait until she is awake.Tell her it's nothing to be embarrassed about, hospital staff does it hundreds of times a day and don't care what private parts look like.

I think you're being harsh, OP. I think it's normal you'd feel embarrassed knowing that someone had stipped you off and rifled around "down there" especially if you're already in a dark place.

It might seem odd to you that she is focusing on this one thing but when you are very low sometimes you can't get rid of certain thoughts. It might feel like the straw that broke the camel's back when she already felt like she couldn't take any more.

Poor lady. Very distressing for her. I hope she has good support and gets well soon Flowers
