Obviously I will have to work with people as part of the majority of jobs. I know you won't get on with everybody and you just have to be polite.
I know agency work has its disadvantages but I really like the idea of it being more on my own terms and getting to work with a greater variety of people.
I've never been in a management role but have had a few jobs where I've felt micromanaged and constantly nitpicked for little things. I know managers are often under a lot of pressure but it just makes me feel useless and like some sort of naughty child.
We're a team of 5 and have a new manager. Yesterday in front of 2 colleagues I was told to 'come here' by her and told off for using pencil and not pen, and told that she could easily rub it out. It wasn't on a formal document but I get her point. But why have to do it in front of others.
Now I've been told off by her for not having something that I was never given by the company.
We have to do a finance check which 2 people need to do each morning. I did it and noticed some money was missing. I asked the colleague who had started earlier that morning and she snapped at me that she hadn't done it yet and to leave it. Then saw her pull a face at our manager about it.
I was only trying to help and she didn't need to snap.
I've had this in a couple of jobs, not all, but it gets very grating and sometimes you feel picked on.
Should I go to agency work instead or am I just being too sensitive?
