I thought it was quite common to give mothers maiden name as a first or middle name (if it's a name that works as a first name). In this case it is the other way around.

Not in my family. None of the women have changed their name on marriage for a few generations, and several of us have insisted on our children having our name. It's a pretty rubbish name at that, but ours.

Miranda was a shit hot lawyer. It would have been crazy for her to think of changing her name.

She helpfully told her boyf (that absolute fragile-ego'd arsehole who dumped her via post it note) that a scrunchie didnt fit the character of his book, which she'd read in draft. It was a casual comment and he just couldn't take it, tried to mansplain women's fashion to her and totally catastrophised the constructive feedback as being hugely critical like the absolute man-child he was. And she was right -scrunchies were well out at that time for the kind of character he was writing.

Was never a big fan of Carrie...but would take her side over his in that argument any day!

He was Brady Hobbs. I’m guessing Miranda kept Hobbs as her surname after she married so Brady kept the name Hobbs too. Why would he need to change his name?

You are right - in my memory she had a meltdown over his judgement of her, and I think I have been particularly influenced by the last SATC film which was so horrific that I can't forgive anyone involved. But that particular boyf of hers was a monumental idiot

The last film was bloody awful. I'll still watch the next one though!

I really liked the first film, but the 2nd was dreadful.
Carrie did realise that she had ruined her wedding. I think she said it on her honeymoon. But she couldn't forgive him for the humiliation he caused.
