Who is being unreasonable? Theatre

Person A thinks come November most theatres will be open as cases will have eased to the point where we can all just get on with our lives, especially now the vaccine roll out will be well and truly completed by then.

Person B thinks that there's a great possibility that this won't be the case for some time to come and November won't necessarily see theatres open.

Who is most likely, in your opinion, to be right?

Person A YANBU
Person B YABU

@milinhas

I think that places like cinemas will be open in November, but I’m not sure about all theatres because it takes a long time to set up for a live performance, assemble your cast, rehearse etc ... Very few actors haven’t had to get another job by now (which of course they will be longing to leave for acting again but it might take a bit of time to reshuffle). This will affect the West End and town theatres to different extents of course!
A lot of productions are already making preparations to open.

I have tickets for July. They were taking bookings for June and that was back in January.

Neither of you is being unreasonable. What is unreasonable would be refusing to buy tickets because you believe it won't happen. If people don't buy tickets then theatres definitely won't reopen. If you buy tickets and the show can't happen, you will get your money back.

I'm buying tickets for things now. I'd happily go to distanced things asap, and I'd buy tickets for full theatres from about November onwards.

@cryh

I meant I’m hoping for the best rather than thinking theatres won’t be open. I’ve got tickets for a play in August that I hope I can go to, used to go fairly regularly and looking forward to going again.
