AIBU?

To not send kids back to school for 3 days

My 5 year old has had numerous covid cases in his class and other classes in his school since they went back 2 weeks ago. Because of this his class was sent home on Thursday to isolate for 10 days. My husband was ill Friday and then has tested positive over the weekend. Our isolation ends on 29th which means my 3 and 5 year old can return to school on the 30th. They finish for the Easter holidays on the 1st April and it's his birthday on the 3rd. Aibu to not send them back for the sake of 3 days and the possibility that they could catch covid and end up ill for the holidays and his birthday.

YANBU.
Keep them home if it’s no a problem with your work and enjoy the birthday and holidays.

To be honest I don’t think I would send them back either.
Dd had to isolate three days after returning to school as someone in her class tested positive. That was far more damaging to her mental health than having stayed home until the Easter holidays.

I don’t think they’d be allowed back if they’ve been in close contact with someone who tested positive for covid. That’s why they were off in the first place.

They and the rest of the household need to isolate at home for 14 days from your husband developing symptoms so they can’t go back. So they need to stay at home until 2nd April.

We have notified track and trace and as his symptoms started on Friday they told us 10 days from then which means our isolation ends on the 29th (end of). I don't think I will be sending them back, not sure if school can issue fines though if I don't send them?

Just tell the school your husband tested positive this week and you will isolate for 10 days.
