We are in the middle of applying for council housing.
Currently we are in private rent but looking to move into council housing for the (ever so slightly) cheaper rent.
We rent a 3 bedroom and are a family of 4 (partner + 2 kids under 8) Our set up is kids share a room, our room and spare which partner uses to sleep in quite a lot due to sleep apnea.
His sleep apnea is bad, and he has had hospital trips, overnight tests etc etc. He wears a guard to sleep but it's not always effective.
He uses the spare room as he disturbs my sleep which in turn effects my mood - mentally it exhausted me before we had the spare room. I was so physically exhausted I cried to our GP at partners appointment for his sleep apnea.
Does anyone know if councils see sleep apnea as a medical need for an additional room? Especially given the severity of it and it effecting my mental health so badly previously?
