To be sick of the police choosing what they will try and police?

Covidiots given license to do what they want today, protesting against a virus in London (that'll show it). Police done nothing to stop it, despite no social distancing and allowed the crowds to gather.

Two women on a park bench and they can't get over quick enough to fine them. And obviously the vigil last week.

Strength in numbers seems to be the maxim.

@UrAWizHarry

It's almost frightening how willing some people are to give up basic rights.
It's not a basic right to do what they're doing today in a pandemic.
CovidCorvid · 20/03/2021 19:37

Police got a pbollocking from Priti Patel and Sadiq Khan for policing the Clapham Common vigil so are probably a bit reluctant for another bollocking.

I'm not sure why anybody would want to be a police officer these days

I feel sorry for them, really

OP next week the emergency covid legislation is due to expire, but will it be removed? This is legislation which at present means that any person (this includes children) who may be potentially infectious can be detained. So at present the police could come into my house and take my child away from me if they believed her to be potentially infectious. That’s what the current law permits.

I’m also a woman in my 30’s who used to live near Clapham, and a woman was snatched off the streets and murdered by a policeman.

Not only that, the government are also trying to pass a bill to completely suppress our right to protest.

People are angry, people are pissed off and these matters should have everyone out on the streets fighting for their rights. These things are more important than covid.

It's a bit futile to argue about this

Hang on tangerine. You say something that is not true, then post a link as proof which does not back up your.statement at all and when its pointed out to you that its not true you say its futile to argue the point Hmm

However I believe there have since been ugly exchanges since.and I dont approve of that at all

BonnieDundee · 20/03/2021 20:10

Well said @Chazzy19876

@tangerinelollipop
Must do this, must do that, must not do this, must not do that. Oh I wish I had more blind faith that just a little bit more will get us over the edge to normality. But there is nothing in past behaviour from the government to suggest that we will be allowed our freedoms back unless we demand them.
Thank God Pankhurst didn't think "oh I must not do this because it isn't allowed. I should just accept not being able to vote".
You might be okay with walking into this blindly, putting immense faith in a faithless government who, to be honest, could not give two shits about you, but I, and many others, are not. You do you.

HopelessBlue192 · 20/03/2021 20:18

Exactly @Chazzy19876

User133847 · 20/03/2021 20:47

@tangerinelollipop

Whatever they're protesting about the police should be doing something to stop people gathering in crowds during a pandemic

Maybe people should engage their brain and not protest during a pandemic in the first place?

Relying on people's common sense hasn't served us very well during this pandemic though.

There will be no police or teachers in 20 years.
From the footage online it was out of control.
Dreading the next 3 weeks protests went on everywhere today.

I thought this was going to be about sex offences against women.

I was going to say YANBU to that but your OP is just. I don't care tbh.
