Matt Hancock has worn the same navy suit and pink tie through the duration of the pandemic. What’s going on there?

I can’t be the only one who has noticed this? Wouldn’t you think his wife or someone - anyone - would just tell him “Fgs you can’t wear that pink tie again.” Why does he do this? I find it peculiar.

No one needs that decision fatigue

Perhaps pink is his favourite colour.

If he wore loads of different ones he would be accused of being so rich he has loads of different suits...

I’ve just googled his image. He wears varying colours of pink and of blue. Didn’t scroll to the end (for fear of smashing my iPad) but there was one image of him wearing a red one.

It's probably so people associate him with pink tie and suit...... Makes him less recognisable when he goes out in his scruffs.

Imagine the reaction if we commented on the narrow clothing choices of a female cabinet minister at press conferences. If they actually did more than one or two of them that is.

My DH’s entire wardrobe consists of copies of the same shirt and the same pair of trousers. Plus one suit for special occasions. He just doesn’t see any reason for variety.

Hes a lizard, they don’t sweat so no need to change/wash clothes.

It’s not that uncommon for men who wear business attire to wear the same thing everyday. Probably has a few suits exactly the same. It’s pretty standard for some people to only wear white shirts. Probably has a dozen pink ties all very similar (my OH is the same except they’re a pale/mid blue. Look identical from a distance).

I wear very similar clothes most days. It's unusual for women but who cares? I have ASD and sensory issues so I have my clothes that are comfy and I wear them repeatedly. I do have some clothes that drive me up the wall for things like funerals.

I read that Mark Zuckerberg also has loads of the same outfit so he doesn’t waste his decision making energy on what to wear, could be similar but yes I did notice as the pink tie is quite a distinctive look 😂

Tbf, I’ve basically worn one pair of jeans and two tops on rotation throughout the pandemic.🤷‍♀️God know what it’s going to be like when I have to dress in proper clothes again

Who cares? I wear the same clothes to work every day; I have 5 identical shirts so always a clean one.
I’m employed for my ability to do my job, not for my dress sense

I’m far more interested in why he always looks like he has just blown his nose/is about to get a cold

Steve jobs (and I'm sure there are other examples) used to wear the same thing everyday - black roll neck and jeans.
He said it meant he didn't have to make a decision, saved him time. Etc

There was an article recently that Prince Harry had worn the same grey suit for a lot of occasions recently inc the recent interview.

I find in interesting. I mean a suit is a suit isn't it? Not like men can have them in a variety of colours... they are normally black, navy blue or Grey!!

Chances are it's what someone up thread said- he has a suit in a cupboard to change into.

That’s exactly what I do - one suit, 5 identical shirts, I pair of shoes (or one pair of sandals in summer).

Maybe there are several ties and none of them were ever pink originally. Until the day Martha went away for the weekend and left him to fend for himself. He thought he'd have a go at doing his own laundry but turned everything pink when he left a rogue red sock in with the lights.

Maybe he’s like Smurfette - but instead of a wardrobe of white dresses as far as the eye can see, his is all navy suits

I must admit, that when I find THE perfect socks, I buy dozens of pairs before they get discontinued, and it saves huge amounts of time.

Happened in the 90's with some BHS ones, bit of an interregnum with a few false starts, and this year I think I've found the near perfect sock from The Sock Shop.

But given that he always seems to wear white shirts, he's not saving time with what the tie has to match or pair with.
